The Volvo 140 Series is a line of mid-sized cars produced by Volvo from 1966 to 1974, divided into models 142, 144 and 145, each model differs in body style and number of doors (142 is a coupe model with two doors, the 144 is a two-door coupe). (a four-door sedan and the 145 a five-door wagon) and each comes in different trim levels. Designed by Jan Wilsgaard, the 140 was the first Volvo to feature a more boxy body style; Compared to the Amazons it replaces, there are very few changes to both the interior and exterior. Production ended in 1974 and the car was replaced by the 200 Series. 1,251,371 units were produced, becoming Volvo's first car to reach one million sales.
